Spread the love

Ugadi is a festival that has been a favourite as it is the start of the New Year for me as a Kannadiga. Naturally then, the festival has many good memories for me.

Ugadi is always about food and this is the onset of summer when the green mangoes especially the totapuri my personal favourite. Mango chitranna is a must have in Kannada households as is the quintessential holige or a sweet chappati.

The market today is full of options of holige with innovative fillings from jackfruit to almonds. If you are looking for Ugadi recipes check the links here, here and here.

For some traditional recipes you can try these sweets from Satya Pandhari, Executive Sous Chef, Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre.
