If you are looking for an offbeat experience in Chandigarh, a guided walk at Panjab University is what you must do.
On a recent visit to Chandigarh as part of the first ever Punjab Travel Mart, I was a speaker on a panel on rural tourism and its opportunities. It was post this session, that I had a chance conversation with a young girl who told me about Chandigarh Architecture Lab and the walks that were being done.
Piqued, I probed a little more to find out that these walks were being conducted by their founder Pamaljeet Singh Sidhu. A quick call and I found myself at Panjab University on a cold winter morning.
The walk took me through the expansive space and also some great insights into the architectural practices of renowned architects like Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, both of whom have been long associated with Chandigarh’s built architecture and are also largely responsible for its tag line, ‘City Beautiful.’
